2021 - Year 2 - Spring 1 - Transport - Why are there so many modes of transport? (Science -Living things and their habitats)

Examples of remote learning from Year 2 in the gallery below:

Links to online activities

  • Virtually visit a rainforest. What can you see? What do you think you’d be able to hear? Listen to some rainforest sounds.

  • Info and games about rainforest habitats.

  • Take a virtual boat ride down the Thames. What can you see? How do things look different from a boat?

Practical Activities

  • Try planting a seed from some fruit you’ve eaten - a pear can work well in a little cup of soil. What will your plant need to grow?

  • Can you invent a plant? Try drawing it first and then use some of your recycling to create a model of it.

  • Try creating a model of a rainforest. What kind of animals would live there?

  • Invent an animal and design its habitat. Draw it or make a collage. What adaptations will it have to live in its environment?

  • Try making a model of a mode of transport - you could use your recycling or make some paper aeroplanes. Or both!

  • Experiment with a toy car on a slope. Can you make it go slowly down the slope? Can you make it go more quickly?

  • Make a rocket mouse.
