Music
Music at Berger provides children access to a wide and varied musical experience. Enabling them to develop social skills and build knowledge, music encourages an expression of creativity and resilience, and enhances a child’s cultural capital. Music education has a positive impact on young children’s development and offers copious opportunities later in life. Music at Berger approaches music education through instrument tuition, listening and responding to music, and creating and exploring original compositions.
Music at Berger is interlinked with many areas of the curriculum; from studying song lyrics in Literacy, using written music to understand and learn fractions in Maths, to developing reasoning skills. Furthermore, it helps to increase concentration, encourages children to take responsible risks, build confidence and much more! It is also extremely beneficial for mental health, communication and socialising. Music at Berger will give our children the opportunity to experience musical performances as well as create and take part in exciting and enjoyable performances of their own!
