Religious Education (R.E.)
R.E. at Berger is driven by key questions. This encourages children to develop deeper thinking and critical thinking skills. These questions require children to: consider what is important in a religion; make links between different world religions based on core beliefs and think about what we can learn from different religions.
R.E. at Berger provides experiences. Children are given the opportunity to go on R.E. trips which immerse the children in their topic and allows them to see and experience first-hand what is important and special in different world religions. By the time children leave Berger in Year 6, they will have had to opportunity to visit: a Hindu Temple, a Mosque, a Church and a Buddhist Centre to learn about how people practise their religions in these special places of worship.
R.E. at Berger is a celebration! As well as focussing our learning through a key question set by the teachers, we love hearing about how children and adults at Berger celebrate festivals in their own religions at home and at school.
