Sewing and Crochet Club
In club last year, children learned how to do different types of sewing stitches, including running stitch, back stitch, chain stitch, stem stitch and cross stitch! We started off using plastic needles and binka, but were soon on to using fabric and metal needles. In Spring 2, we have been focusing on crochet. So far, we have looked at the different crochet stitches, their symbols, abbreviations, and how to recognise them in a crochet pattern. We have also learned about how to do a starting knot, hold a crochet hook properly, and have begun making simple chains. We will soon be moving on to learning some different crochet stitches, like double and triple crochet.
