What is Forgiveness?
In our RE lessons we discussed what is meant by ‘Forgiveness.’ We defined forgiveness through art. We drew representations of what forgiveness means for us.
As part of our Maths lesson, we took a little walk in the area to collect some data on the different types of transport we could see. We saw lots of cars, vans, trucks, buses and a few ambulances. We then used this data to create our own bar charts.
Here is our amazing Transport display including our postcards as tourists on the Moon, an explanation text on how to look after the Moon and some art work of different types of transport. We are very proud!
We tested our knowledge of the key events of the Great Fire of London through a game of who wants to be a millionaire. We answered a lot of the questions correctly and won a great prize at the end!
We watched our Tudor houses burn to re-enact the Great Fire of London. We used our senses to think about what we could smell, observe, hear and feel emotionally. We were also able to make links with our Science topic, by thinking about flammable materials and whether having the houses spread apart slowed down the fire. It was a great learning experience!
We planned our own version of Samuel Pepys’ diary by changing parts of his original diary. We used talk4writing actions and text maps to write our own diaries.
As part of our Local History Week, we interviewed our families; asking them questions about how and when they moved to Hackney, what they like and dislike about Hackney and what makes Hackney special. Following on from our family interviews we had a go at drawing maps of Hackney and discussed what we think makes Hackney a special place. We also got very busy painting our flags and creating art pieces inspired by local Hackney artists Gilbert & George.
We used Bee Bots to learn about Road Safety. We discussed ways of being visible when travelling in the dark. We also had a look at different road signs, crossings and the use of traffic lights for pedestrians. We made sure our Bee Bot remained safe on the streets!
In PSHE, we talked about who our community heroes are and when we might seek help from them. We discussed who we would go to in an emergency by looking at different roles in the community. Have a look at our puppets of some of our community heroes…
We used photographs we took on our Monument trip to create presentations on KeyNote. We added transitions and voice notes using the keynote app.
