We are SCIENTISTS!
This term our Science topic is Living Things and their Habitats. As part of this topic, we conducted a Science experiment where we investigated soil erosion (a habitat for plants and some animals). To conduct this experiment, we had three bottles all of the same size, but which had different conditions: one had flowers (and soil), the other had leaves (and soil) and one bottle just had soil.
Before the experiment, the children came up with their question, aim and predictions.
To conduct the experiment fairly, the children poured the same amount of water in the bottles and then observed what happened to the soil and the colour of the water.
They then compared their prediction to their results.
They really enjoyed being Scientists and enjoyed talking about the importance of the soil and why it is important for us to have trees.
